Mars Opposition Star Party Report 3/3/12

Well tonight’s star party turned out pretty good considering the clouds. We had breaks in the clouds which allowed us to see the Moon,Jupiter,Venus,Mercury and Mars. The seeing seemed to get better for Mars around 9 pm. If I counted right there were around 12 scopes set up along with people who came just to view. The skies could have been better but in all reality they could have been worse. Everyone seemed to have a good time with some guest having seen some objects for the first time. For me it was nice to look west and see Mercury lined up with Venus and Jupiter. For those who didn’t make it tonight we will have another Star Party in two weeks (17th) so the opportunity for Mars is still there and right behind comes Saturn.

Later,  Eddie
